Then I came across these lovely images I snapped one day riding my bike though Oakland. A couple days later, they were painted over. The temporal beautiful world.

the temporal tangible
I've been printing postcards in an attempt to support the continuation of snail mail. A friend told me they received a post card in the mail recently and were surprised at how precious it seemed. It suddenly struck me that these tangible objects, with tactile form, are still essentially temporary. However, they are also rare instances in our lives that are more special because they lack the perfunctory effort of an email or text message.

clearly it's what we need
Last week I managed to escape my current urbanity to sleep in a ghost town, swim in clear Northern California river water, see the immensity of space reflect on skies lacking light pollution, wake with the sun and relinquish time of its duties to (this projected) reality.
A photo can only crudely represent, what is wholly, an experience. But, I do try in my human way of holding on to a memory.

"But would you kindly ponder this question: What would your good do if evil didn't exist, and what would the earth look like if all the shadows disappeared? After all, shadows are cast by things and people. Here is the shadow of my sword. But shadows also come from trees and living beings. Do you want to strip the earth of all trees and living things just because of your fantasy of enjoying naked light? You're stupid."

Red Bitch
My baby left me 10 years ago. She wasn't in this rough of shape, but she likely would be now if the head gasket hadn't taken her when it did. She was red and we had a lot of fun together. How I miss her so, even knowing that buying gas for a steel beast would be nearly impossible today. But my heart skips a bit at this sight.... I want to get in, get on the highway, press the gas, lift right off the road and cruise for awhile with the windows down. Probably sing at the top of my lungs too. Yes.

at the edge of the world
In some sense man is a microcosm of the universe; therefore what man is, is a clue to the universe. We are enfolded in the universe.

Our life is composed greatly from dreams, from the unconscious, and they must be brought into connection with action. They must be woven together.
