Long awaited return...

I've been enormously busy as my first semester has sped by.  Busy but happy, and leaving some things, like updating my blog, last on the list.  But alas, I'll pull out a couple of the prints I made during my photography class last spring.  First, my gorgeous model and dear friend, Lindsey, in the bathtub.  Then a photogram of zippers that I think turned out pretty rad.  Last, lichen that was growing on a fountain at the Mountain View cemetary here in Oakland.  Enjoy!

take two: prints

I've been spending every last free moment I have in the darkroom printing.  Here are some new prints, shot on 35mm Kodak Plus-X with my Pentax K1000.

home

“There's nothing half so pleasant as coming home again.”
~Margaret Elizabeth Sangster

Perhaps I'm getting a bit sentimental as I look forward to my upcoming visit back to Iowa.  I love where I live now, but I still consider Iowa to be one of the most beautiful places.  I've come to miss some of its beauty, as well as the wide open space which has become less prominent in my day to day life.  These are some 12+ year old photos I took (on disposable 35mm cameras) that I dug out of storage and scanned.  I like how you can see the dust and scratches and regular damage of a photo that's been through years of admiration, love and memory.
I swear I can almost smell that sweet air!  Dear Iowa, a piece of my heart will always lie with you.

passport to another blog

With some expired film, a borrowed Passport Polaroid camera and a few random props, you can make some interesting things.  See the resulting photos here and here, and be sure to open the images in a separate window so you can view them in 3-D (think Magic Eye).  Check out the rest of the blog as well, cause it's amazing!
